"Bad Penny/Keychain" – Rory Gallagher

Another favourite album of mine is Irish blues rocker Rory Gallagher’s “Top Priority”. The first thing I heard from Rory was however when Swedish radio played “Do You Read Me”, which really caught my attention and made me check out his albums. His gritty vocals, raw Strat sound and crude bluesy touch mixed with a soulful emotion really made me a fan. I couldn’t decide which track to record to I went for a double-pack, fusing together “Bad Penny” with its almost “Layla”-like melodic riff and the crushing “Keychain”. For a guest solo I already had Mikael Nord Andersson in mind, and when doing an interview with Electric Boys’ Conny Bloom for FUZZ he said he was a fan of Rory. So, I popped the question if he would like to add some vocals and guitars, he said yes. However as he only got the feel for “Bad Penny” I asked Pontus Snibb, the multi talented singer/guitarist/drummer from Bonafide/Snibb if he would like to add his vocal flair to “Keychain”, which he did. When I received Mikael and Conny’s solos I found out they had actually laid down their solos on the same part! What to do? Well, I simply moved Mikael’s “Bad Penny”-part solo to the “Kaychain” section, which worked out nicely! This one’s for you Rory!Line-up:
Conny Bloom: vocals
Pontus Snibb: vocals
Janne Stark: lead/rhythm guitar, bass
