"Struck Down/25 Hours A Day" – Yesterday and Today
Originally Released on "Struck Down" and "Yesterday And Today" (London 1978 + 1976)
Also available as: CD (Mondo 1992)

Here’s another old favourite band of mine. When I saw the front cover of the self-titled debut in the store after having heard “25 Hours A Day” on the radio, I just went “Yeeeeah!” and bought it. Lenny Haze’s bass drums blew my mind, so did Dave Meniketti’s burning leads. The subsequent “Struck Down” had a slightly muddier mix, but the songs struck me! Then they just disappeared, to finally re-appear as Y&T. So, I decided to go for a mix of “Struck Down” and “25 Hours A Day” and then I threw in a little “Come on Over” in the end for good measures. The vocals on this one was provided by Mikael Nord Andersson who also delivers some stunningly flashing licks in the three-way end duel with combatants Joe Romagnola and myself. The drums on this track were delivered by one of my favourite drummers, James Ed Collins Jr, whose drumming I was blown away by when I first heard his former band Pod’s sadly unreleased album “Headed For The Zeros” (it was later release as “Hung”, but actually taken from a different earlier recording – well, worth checking out anyway!).
